What We Do

Architectural Integrity.
Local Craftsmanship.

The Window Shop was established in 1999 to help homeowners preserve the architectural integrity of their homes by manufacturing and installing custom replacement wood windows and specialty doors.

San Francisco and the Bay Area has a rich architectural history that includes Victorian (Italianate, Stick-Eastlake, Queen Anne), Edwardian, Shingle, Arts & Crafts, Craftsman/Bungalow, Colonial & Georgian Revival, Spanish & Mediterranean Revival, Tudor, Storybook, and French Norman styles. These homes were built by craftsmen dedicated to beauty – where the windows and doors are architectural millwork tailored to the house – and we are proud stewards of their legacy.

Custom Wood Windows and Doors

Every project begins by understanding the existing architecture of your home, including detailed measurements to match original profiles, proportions and true divided-lite patterns.

Our local craftsmen have more than 120 years of combined experience using premium woods and precision tools to manufacture and install replacement windows for all of your needs – whether you’re replacing a damaged window or improving the energy efficiency of a room.

We specialize in double hung, casements, and roundtops, and we can replicate and custom manufacture nearly any historic design.

When we install, we take great care to fit every window to its existing frame with precision, protecting trim and siding along the way.
